The Sony PMW F3 is the Film and Digital Medial Department’s high end camera. This kit comes with three prime (non zooming) lenses (35, 50 and 85mm). The F3 is the digital equivalent of a 35 mm film camera. The F3’s Super 35mm CMOS sensor offers increased control over depth of field, higher sensitivity in low light, lower image noise, and an exceptional dynamic range. The camera’s ability to use a shallow depth of field allows for a more cinematic look. When used in conjunction with the Black Magic Hyper Deck shuttle, the F3 can record uncompressed video in the 4:2:2: color space.
